ROBERTSPORT, April 5 (LINA) - The Commissioner of Beh Gondor Township in Gola Konneh District, Grand Cape Mount County, Mr. Thomas Gonda, has lauded a
construction company for using local manpower and materials to build a clinic in the area.
He observed that the employment of citizens has afforded them the opportunity to earn a livelihood and meet family obligations, like payment of tuition fees of their children.
Commissioner Gonda made the commendation on Thursday in the district in an interview with the Liberia News Agency (LINA) Grand Cape Mount County correspondent.
He said besides employment, the management of Mass Freed Construction Company is purchasing materials such as crushed rocks and sand from the locals to implement the project.
Commissioner Gonda is meanwhile urging the citizens to make more local materials available to prevent the construction firm from importing crushed rocks and sand from Monrovia and to ensure that the project will be completed on time.
Mr. Gonda recalled that the contract between the government and the company was signed in July last year to construct the ten-bedroom clinic valued at US$148,000.
