Wildlife-Attack
Barclayville, April 6, (LINA) - Several bush cows and elephants have reportedly waged an attack on crops in Duatro, upper Barclayville District in grand Kru County, destroying several farms.
Commuters from the distract told the Liberia News Agency in Felorken, about 15 miles to Duatro that the wildlife have lost their habitat to illicit miners and power saw operators, who disturb the forest as a result of their activities, sending the animals on rampage.
According to the commuters, some of the animals were seen heading toward Barrobo, in Maryland County, while villagers have begun to abandon their areas to seek safety in bigger town.
The villagers are appealing to government to take charge of tropical forest in the county to curb the illegal activities of miners and pit sewers, which have disturbed the quietude of animals in the bush.
