New Liberia Editor Returns From Media Forum
The Managing Editor of the New Liberia Newspaper at the Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism (MICAT), Mr. Silas Anthony Meahyen, has returned home after attending a week-long Turkey-Africa Media Forum in Turkey, Ankara, the capital.
The Turkey-Africa Media Forum which was held under the auspices of the Deputy Primer Minister His Excellency Bulent Arinc and organized by the Office of the Primer Minister Directorate
General of Press and Information and supported by the Africa Media Initiative (AMI).
The forum brought together 300 media personalities from 54 African Union member countries along with Turkey, under the theme “Designing of Common Future and Media Solidarity.”
The forum provides an opportunity for comprehensive information sharing and exchange of views, and will create professional solidarity among media institutions and journalists through forming a common platform and communication channels between Turkey and African countries. Several papers were presented during the Forum. The ceremony was attended by Turkey’s Foreign Affairs Minister Prof. Dr. Ahmet Davutoglu, Chief Advisor of the Prime Minister of Turkey and Public Diplomacy Coordinator and Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc who also addressed the opening and closing ceremony of the media forum.
