Liberia-Turkey Friendship Cooperation Established

A group under the banner of the Liberia-Turkey Cooperation (LTC) has been established in Liberia. The Liberia-Turkey Cooperation is aimed at promoting and developing mutual ties between the Republic of Liberia and the Republic of Turkey.

According to the organizing committee of the LTC, the group intends to promote and support actions leading to strengthening relations between the two countries cultural activities, agriculture, education, medicine amongst others.

Messrs James Kiazolu and Crispin Tulay have been selected to serve as Interim President and secretary General respectively of the Liberia –Turkey Cooperation. Mr. Kiazolu is the past President of the Press Union of Liberia and now Publisher and President of the Liberian Express Newspaper and Saife Printing Press in Monrovia.

Messrs. Kiazolu and Tulay and several other Liberian Journalists were recently among 274 journalists from 54 African Union member countries that participated in the just ended Turkish-African Media Forum held in Ankara, Turkey from May 9-10 2012.

The group believes strengthening Liberia and Turkey relations would be of mutual benefit to the two nations and people and that Turkey would leave an indelible imprint on the path to Liberia recovery and socio-economic development as Liberian Government strives to rebuild war-wrecked communities.

There are many lessons and advantages that would be learned and gained from Turkey as Liberia continues to make inroads on the global scene.

In strengthening relations with Turkey, it would further enhance Liberians perception to the attitude of work, development and self-reliant, which are pillars that liberate any nation from underdevelopment, a release quotes the organizers.

It said the LTC will disseminate information about Liberia to Turkey and promote the sharing of  non-partisan and right information between the two countries and stimulate the debate about Liberia’s current condition and to promote reconstruction.

The LTC is a non-profit making and non partisan association which serves the needs and provide firsthand information about Liberia and Turkey culture and way of life. Liberia-Turkey Cooperation is open to the general public committed to human co-existence and peace through the rule of law.
