MONROVIA, July 17 (LINA) -Montserrado County Senator Geraldine Doe-Sheriff has stressed the need for the Legislative and Executive branches to meet and discuss “pressing national issues” to avoid danger in the country.

The Senator said her call comes in the wake of many violent actions taking place in the country, which send dangerous signals to all officials of government.

According to the Liberia News Agency, Senator Doe-Sheriff made the statement during regular session on Thursday, noting that when violence arises, officials would fly out of the country and leave the citizens to face their fate.

Sheriff, in her statement, maintained that the entire government is paralyzed, because there are “too many things that are not working” in the citizens’ interest.

She indicated that it is worrisome that most of the ministries and agencies have experienced some form of demonstration due to employees’ dissatisfaction.

She named those entities as the Ministries of Finance and Development
Planning, Health and Social Welfare, Education, and Public Works.

The Montserrado County lawmaker said the best way to deal with these issues is for all officials of government to get involved and take these problems as their own.
