MONROVIA, July 21 (LINA) -The body of the Director of Audio Visual at the Ministry of Information, Joe T. Zaway, has been laid to rest following funeral rites at the United Faith Pentecostal Church in Sand Town, Paynesville.
Zaway, who died on July 1 at the Catholic Hospital in Monrovia following a brief illness, was buried at the weekend at the Zaway family plot in ELWA.
Speaking at the funeral service, Deputy Information Minister for Administration, Norris Tweah, urged the employees to use the death of their fallen colleague to work in unity and commitment, noting that death can take anyone at any time.
He said the deceased served the Ministry with a high of level of commitment and dedication for more than 30 years, stressing that he was listed for honorable retirement when he died.
Earlier, the Pastor of the United Faith Pentecostal Church, Rev. Nathaniel Kla Moore, challenged the bereaved family to get closer to God in the absence of their fallen relative.
Meanwhile, many sympathizers in their tributes described the death of the Liberian journalist as a blow to the Ministry and the journalism profession, adding that Zaway’s death would be difficult to overcome.
