12 NTA Buses to Arrive September

Additional 12 buses to boost the public transport sector will arrive in the country in September. They are expected to arrive with spare parts and a trainer.
The Government of Liberia ordered 10 buses but got a price dispensation, resulting to 2 extra ones.
The consignment will increase the fleet of public buses to 45.

Carpenters Appear in Budget

Carpenters now have the opportunity to rejoice as a portion of the Government of Liberia (GOL) draft 2012A/2013 National Budget has been allotted to them.

Making the disclosure Thursday May 31, 2012, Minister of Finance and Economic Planning Amara Konneh confirmed his earlier assurance that government will sponsor the training of carpenters nationwide.

Minister Konneh who was speaking barely half an hour after presenting the draft budget to the Legislature, said US$10 million had been allotted to building the capacity carpenters, teachers and doctors.

Reconciliation Process on Course

Liberia is on an irreversible path toward peace, stability and reconciliation; Acting Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism, Norris Tweah, has said.

Addressing a regular press briefing Thursday November 17, 2011 at the ministry’s Capitol Hill offices, Acting Minister Tweah said Liberia had made significant gains over the last six years; and could not afford to see them go down the drain.

 

“Liberia must evolve a new dynamism of reconciliation by narrowing the artificial political barriers of disunity,” he said. “We need to open a new page in our nation’s history,” he added.
