SINOE COUNTY PROFILE & DEVELOMENT HIGHLIGHTS
Sinoe County is one of the three original counties of the Republic of Liberia that signed the Declaration of Independence on July 26, 1847. Its capital city is Greenville. Located in southeastern Liberia, Sinoe is bordered by Grand Gedeh County on the North, by River Cess County on the West, by Grand Kru and River Gee on the East, and by the Atlantic Ocean on the South. Sinoe covers a land area of about 3,861 square miles (10,000 square kilometers) and has a total coastline of 86 km. The county’s population is 102,391 including 54,767 males and 47,624 females. The Kru followed by the Sapo and Grebo are the major ethnic groups in the county. The county now has 21 administrative districts.
